How far can you shoot with a longbow?

The actual range of a longbow depends on various factors. For one, it is significantly determined by the draw weight of the bow. Models that require greater tension (70-80 kg) can propel arrows significantly further. Furthermore, arrow weight plays an important role, as lighter arrows generate higher speeds and thus a greater flight distance. Not least, the range also depends on the archer themselves, as only an experienced archer can ensure a reliable hit rate over long distances. As a general rule, one can expect a flight distance of between 140 and 300 meters. With specialized bows and arrows, distances of well over 500 meters can even be achieved.

How do I properly maintain my longbow to extend its lifespan?

After each use, you should clean the bow to remove dirt and moisture. For storage, we recommend a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent warping. In addition, regularly check all parts of your bow, including the string, limbs, and riser, for wear and damage. If the finish of your bow is significantly damaged in several places, moisture can penetrate.
